Camping del Catria
General
A short distance from Cantiano, a small village in the region of Le Marche, in a valley looking up to the Apennines,you will find this campsite that has been in operation untill a few years ago. The campsite is very easily accessible and accessible for both campers and caravans. Upon entering there is a building that served as a reception, washing machine room and a covered terrace, which was probably a bar annex shop. This building needs to be completely restored. The grounds are nicely grown in and provided with plenty of shady spots. There are power points for all pitches and there is public lighting on the campsite. The site consists of several flat terraces, situated on a central path leading to the toilet block. The toilet block consists of three parts: the central part is the washing-up area. On the left we find the showers (5 pieces), sinks and toilets (4) for the ladies, one of which is wheelchair accessible. On the right is the men's section with five showers, washbasins and five toilets. This sanitary building also needs a thorough renovation, but is structurally in such a condition that it does'nt have to be demolished. To the left of the sanitary building, the campsite goes up even further and here we find more tent pitches. These places are a bit more in the sun. The total number of places at the moment is around 30.
Floorplan
The site has a tourist destination and that is quite unique. Because it means that there is more freedom to realize plans and projects. Placing safari tents with their own sanitary facilities is certainly one of the possibilities here. The terrain is also excellent for it, the camping pitches almost ask for it. In addition, there is a beautiful place for the realization of a swimming pool, so that the campsite has everything it takes to become a top location. The advantage of this campsite is that all utilities are already installed.
Possibilities
Cantiano is located on the border of Le Marche and Umbria, in a valley looking up to the Apennines and can safely be called the green heart of Italy. Cantiano is located at the foot of Mount Catria and is therefore a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, such as hikers and mountain bikers. The new cycle route Ciclo Appenninica Alte Marche, with charging points for the e-bike everywhere, leads past the campsite. But above all, Cantiano has a tradition when it comes to horses: the riding school is a short distance away and excursions in the mountains are organized from there. An ideal location for nature lovers but also for art connoisseurs: art cities such as Assisi, Perugia and Gubbio are within easy reach. Tourism is on the rise here, but not yet so overwhelming that the authentic character of the region has been lost.
